Twenty Years On

Twenty years have passed since Edward kept a diary documenting secrets and stories from his long life. The year is now 2032 and he’s at it again, reminiscing about the turns his life has taken since 2012.

Personally, I would never kill off Jacob Black. But if someone is mortal, regardless of how resilient he might be, then it seems likely that in a thousand years or so, something fatal could happen to him. Just not on my watch. πŸ˜‰ -PAL

      Hi Samina,
Thank you for your lovely comment. I know what you mean about falling in love with Edward again. πŸ˜‰

About your question: There’s no download link for the Twenty Years On book because it is not finished. I hope to write more pieces for it. When it’s complete, I’ll create a download link. For the time being, you either have to read the stories off the website, or download them individually. All the best, -PAL

You are sweet. I have been hoping to get back to this for about a year now (as my friend L.R.B. will tell you πŸ™‚ ), but I still have hopes that I will, possibly this summer. I’ve just finished my own first novel and boy, howdy, has that been a big distraction away from Edward. πŸ˜‰ Plus, my lovely co-writer, Julie Vans (aka J.A. Canter) is also launching her romance collection and has been away from the website as well. We’ll keep you posted, though! xx, -PAL

Hi PAL, as a die hard fan of the series, I owed it to Edward to read his version of the story. And, believe me, when i say the book is outstanding it’s just because i’m out of words. You’ve done a fabulous job with the content and the writing style. It is beyond all expectations. I, however, have a request for you. It’ll be great if you could write in your flawless style another famous triology by the name Fifty Shades. I’m sure all your fans would be thrilled.
Thank you for giving us a little more of Edward, Bella and Jacob. We are forever grateful πŸ™‚

Thank you so much, Shaili! As it turns out, someone has already done the Fifty Shades trilogy from Christian’s point-of-view. GE Griffen is the writer, and her Fifty Shades website has gotten nearly 8 millions views. Here’s a pointer to it: Meet Fifty Shades I’d be interested to hear what you think of it. -PAL

I really hate renesmee….. how selfish she is… once she had jacob she forgot her father… even bella also supported her daughter.. poor edward… how edward wants renesmee to be happy.. he tought about giving her a car only for her safety but that stupid jacob and his stupid pride. Edward didn’t see quilites as low he only wants her daughter to be safe. every father thinks like that.. renesmee always thinking about jacob.. she does want HIM to see her suffering but didn’t care about her own dad…!!!!! she didn’t even allow him to walk down the aisle.. didn’t allow him to her house.. how selfish she is… after or during her pregnency she didn’t even say or feel sorry for edward…ALWAYS JAACOB JACOB JACOB…

    • PA Lassiter says:

Ah…that’s too bad. My feeling when I was writing Renesmee was that Edward had just pushed her too far in not accepting Jacob as his son-in-law. She felt that Edward was trying to control her life, and so she simply got fed up and had to push back. But I understand your reading of their relationship too. It’s painful. But…here’s the good news…I believe that Edward will adjust his attitude (which was based mostly on fear) and learn to let Renesmee live her own life, which will allow them to become close again. Also, since Sarabel is so much like her father, I foresee that Jacob and Sarabel will bond very tightly and sometimes Renesmee will feel left out of that relationship. She’ll turn back to her parents for support. -PAL

My feelings about Renesemee is the same as Sruthi malhotra, if it was not for Bella and Edward she would not have life, Bella died as a human and Edward was the one to get her out of the womb. It is sad, but true that a spouse will take priority over a parent. that is a fact of life. Bella should let her daughter live her own life and she and Edward should lead theirs and rejoin Edward’s vampire family who love them and appreciate them more than Renesemee seems to.

Hi, since I got the audiobook of the Twilight Saga, I have listened to it 5x and it always has the same effect on me. I laughed, cried, become excited even when I knew what’s going to happen next.
Then, Last Monday, I remembered your story about Bree and started surfing. Lucky for me, I found Midnight Sun! I surfed for the continuation and found all your books, sigh (I’m in heaven)!
I cried with Renee when Bella & Edward died. I also pitied Rosalie when her boy died. Please oh please, don’t let anybody die within the family. I love all of them!

Oh my lord. As I was reading Breaking Dawn 1, I happened to wonder over and look at “Twenty Year On”, not a good thing to do. Your chapter title took my breath and made my very much human heart race, to the point of needing an something to calm the nerves, REALLY! I read a bit from each chapter and as time went on, heart still racing, I came to realize Nessie was still alive and no harm had come to Bella or Edward. Next time give a girl some warning as not to need Xanax or kleenex.
    Love your writing\

      Hi there,
The file names have no bearing on the number or ordering of the stories. I numbered the files based on different things I was working on, but some of them didn’t turn into anything, so #7 and #9 do not exist. Which means that, yes, I guess they are missing on purpose. πŸ™‚ -PAL

      Hi Dayana,
Never fear…you’re not missing anything. The numbering holes are just that–holes. They are phantom stories that got started and didn’t work out or a place where I thought a story might fit, but it didn’t. Most people don’t see the file numbers and don’t notice that. You’re special. πŸ™‚ -PAL

Just finished all of your writings. Great work. I just can’t seem to get enough of Bella & Edward. I enjoyed reading your take on continuing their stories. I just don’t ever want their stories to end. So I guess you can say I’m addicted. Just watched all of the movies again this past weekend. And
have been addicted to wattpad the last couple of months. Which is exactly how i found your website from a writer mentioning your site. So thankful she did i thoroughly enjoyed it. Hope you keep it up.

    • PA Lassiter says:

Thank you so much. I understand completely. The problem with getting addicted to a fictional world is that it’s necessarily finite. I couldn’t accept that we could only read the first half of Midnight Sun, so I finished (a version of) it to keep the fairy tale alive for myself a while longer. Then one thing led to another and this website grew and grew. It’s hard to let go. Right now, I can’t imagine having the kind of time I had when I was producing the stories on this website–my life has moved on too, and I have to run to keep up sometimes. I may get back here at some point. I’ll never say never. -PAL

What a great offer, Shannon! I have needed to do quite a bit of research about food, language, the shape of the land, weather, agriculture, flora, tobacco, and moonshine.:-) Now that the book is almost finished, I realize I’ve used only a small percentage of all the information gleaned. Amity, Kentucky, is the name of the town I made up (near Cynthiana). It has a large stone Episcopal church in the center of it with an antique pipe organ. It has a nip joint or two, lots of self-help groups that meet at the church, a smattering of rednecks, and one crazy old lady from hill country who falls for the new (gay) priest of the church. I’m moving out of the review cycle for the book and moving closer to publication, but I will be posting excerpts prior to release. The second book is set in the same place so I may have new questions to ask and I will be looking for beta readers if you are interested. Thank you so much for your kind offer. Natives are a fantastic resource for a writer. -PAL

Thank you. Writing the stories on this site took about two years, then I needed to move on to other (potentially paying) projects, so the tale trailed off. The future part of it is a lot more work, as you’ll understand if you read some of the comments on this page, but Julie Vans and I both still have hope that we’ll write more stories at some point. Hi there,
We’re not really “planning” at this point. We’re hoping to write a few more chapters when we find the time and inspiration. The futuristic chapters are the toughest because they require stuffing your head full of all the facts and details of the Twilight world to avoid getting things wrong. Since Julie and I are working on other projects, we don’t have the Twilight database in our heads at the moment. I’ll announce any new material on my blog, though. Thanks for asking. -PAL
