Private Diary of EAC

Edward’s gift for reading minds provides him with a glut of information about those around him, some of it wanted, but most of it not. His sense of integrity prevents him from sharing others’ secrets, and so to relieve his mind, he took time in 2011 and 2012 to record them in this diary, along with some secrets of his own.

It was great to read the entire saga from Edward’s POV. The work is marvellous. There was no difference between the tone in midnight sun 1 and 2.

I have a doubt. In breaking dawn, the Cullens were worried whether they should use venom on renesmee because of her similarity with the shape shifters. They doubted that perhaps the venom can kill her. But in Edward’s diary he uses her venom to heal her cuts. Why did he took the risk?

P.S. please publish more twilight stories. Your work is so much great.

I wanted to say I found it funny to read you concluded MS for bella in ‘bella’s Malady’
I have been diagnosed with the relapse remitting MS in last may and i have it longer than that the doctors say, and i never recognized bella’s issues in mine. Of course the disease treats everyone differently but still haha! Anyway, this is just a fanfiction and you have all freedom to write what you want. I have no idea where i wanted to go with this comment x’D

      Hi Arja,
It always seemed so unlikely to me that Bella would have so much trouble with her balance, falling, etc. without some reason for it. It always broke my heart. -PAL

    So did Renesmee die?

    • PA Lassiter says:

No! 🙂 We discovered that Renesmee–while she can feel all the pain of a human–is unable to die. So she shares both the best aspect of being half vampire and the worst aspect of being half human.

i have loved your books more than the original Twilight series. I would love if somehow you could add to this awesome series you have created for all of us that are in love with the books. I love reading and imagining the twilight series from Edward’s pov and would do anything for more. But this is a just a suggestion, and keep up the good work!

Hey, so far so good.😁. Edward never ever ever fails to surprise me and makes me falling more for him. You’re doing a great job. Good work.
A question: are these fictions all by you? I mean, if you could work up with Mayer about these and release the movies, it’d be even more amazing!

      Hi Diya,
Yes, all of the writing here is done by me, except for the several stories written by Julie Vans in Twenty Years On and Together Away

I’m sure Stephenie Meyers was inundated with fan fiction writers who proposed projects to her, but this work is a tribute to her work and doesn’t stand alone. Thanks for your kind words, though. 😉

What do you recommend reading after Edward’s private diary ?

    • PA Lassiter says:

Boy, that’s a hard question. Honestly, I never found anything else in the Edward/Bella fan fiction arena that captured me. I guess that’s because I wanted to preserve the extended world I’d created and didn’t want to “steal” ideas from anyone else. So, I’m not the best person to ask. What I did move on to after writing this website was the 50 Shades of Grey fan fiction arena because I found so many interesting parallels to Twilight in the original 50 Shades series. It was fascinating for me as a writer to see how EL James permuted Edward and Bella and borrowed scenes and settings. -PAL

I loved everything from this diary but couldn’t comprehend with last chapter. If Alice’s ability to see future is due to her species then it seems highly impossible that she would ever be able to see the future of anyone who’s not either human or vampire.

    • PA Lassiter says:

      Hi Akshata,
Yes, you’re probably right. I excused it because we know that the vampires can “improve” their skills and extend them with intense practice, but in reality, I wrote that story a long time after the others, after I’d gotten unused to keeping all the details about the Twilight world in my head. It’s a blatant mistake in the world. However, I left the story here because I liked it so much, and also, because I’d recently taken a cruise to Alaska and got to meet Canadian first nations’ people and see their ancestral button blankets in person. I wanted to write about that. -PAL

Hi! I love all the twilight fan fiction you have written, and I’ve read it all countless times. I did just notice though, in the final entry “whiter shade of pale”, Alice is able to see both the wolves and Renesme in her vision, despite her never being able to do this previously. I was just wondering if there was an explanation for this?

    Like

    • PA Lassiter says:

      Hi Lauren,
Sadly, the explanation is that I took a long break before writing this story and I’d forgotten the details about Alice’s visions. I left the story in with the possible excuse that Alice kept working on her talent to try to increase her ability to see through the wolves because it’s a matter of survival for her family. This is possibly viable when you consider how Bella practiced to control and expand her shielding talent, but the explanation is a bit of a stretch. I liked the story, though, so here it is. 🙂 -PAL

    Hi PAL!
I was reading Edwards private diary and I read the chapter on how Harry Clearwater died. I know that you wrote that Harry died because of Victoria, but in the twilight books it says that Harry had a heart attack when he saw his daughter Leah phase into a wolf, which then caused Seth to phase. I was just wondering which scenario was correct. Thank you and I absolutely loved reading all of your books from Edwards point of view!!!

      Hi Kayla!
I wrote the diary entries at the same time I wrote Edward’s point of view, and I didn’t have all the information in every case before I wrote the stories. For example, Stephenie Meyer’s Illustrated Guide was published later than these stories and revealed more information about various things. When I imagined what might have happened to Harry, I decided that he could have had a heart attack when he saw Victoria, but I later read The Illustrated Guide and found out otherwise. I didn’t go back to change my version because I was attached to it by then. There are several of these inconsistencies in Edward’s diary. You have a sharp eye. 🙂 -PAL

I just finished reading Edwards Diary, and noted it finished in October 2012. The next part I can find, Together Away, starts in 2015. Is there somewhere that covers 2013 & 2014?

    I’m addicted!

      Hi Kate,
No, there isn’t anything for those dates. The diary came about in real time during those years (through 2012) as ideas came to me. Then writer Julie Vans submitted a piece to me and I liked it so much I added it to the website. She then proposed the Together Away series, which she subsequently wrote for the website. We subsequently worked on Twenty Years On together, but each of these were discrete, limited projects. Thanks for the question! -PAL

      Hi Belinda,
Thanks for your note and I’m glad the stories here have filled a gap for you, as they did for me. It was important to me to explore how much it hurt Edward to leave Bella in New Moon, which is what Stephenie Meyer had in mind, I believe. I really wanted to see things from his point of view because she left out his thoughts about that whole process. All the best, -PAL

    Hi PAL,
I’m start reading your Edward Point of view without knowing that it’s you, not Stephanie Meyer. But when I got it, I’ve searched more and start reading all of your work. It’s fantastic!! Just wow. But I think there is some mistake or probably it’s my prejudice that I can’t imagine Edward behave like a jerk in ‘New Moon’ when in Bella’s sleep he could not help with his lust and behave like normal teenager who is looking only for someone’s body. It’s something that I’m not expecting with Edward with all his self control and the love he feels for Bella. His love for Bella is more than physical (well it turns in that way later).
And one more thing, in his private Diary you mention that Esme was 6 years older than Edward (My Generation) and in the next chapter(Age & the Ages) you mention her 9 years older. So which is right?

    • PA Lassiter says:

      Hi Manish,
Thanks for your comment. I’m glad you’re enjoying the stories. As for Edward’s reaction to Bella, I wrote it the way that I did mostly based on my interpretation of a comment he made to Bella in Twilight, that she was awakening “the human side” of him. I believe he is referring partly to his physical attraction to her that is unrelated to his vampire nature. Even in their biology class, there is an extended description of the electricity he and Bella feel running between them and the repeated touching of her face, etc., that ultimately leads to him asking to kiss her. I felt that this reaction is part of what makes him attempt to be with her and that the longer he is with her, the more his “human side”, i.e., the physical attraction, will grow. This is a normal and natural escalation of events. Of course he loves her, but he must also wrestle with his awakening body that is behaving more like a human than he ever expected. But this is my interpretation, coming from an adult woman, not a teenager, and such is my perspective on young males. Not everybody agrees with me. 🙂
As for the difference in age between Edward and Esme, I wrote the earlier books before Stephenie Meyer’s “Illustrated Guide” was written to clarify the details of their ages. I rechecked the statistics: Esme was born in 1895 and was changed at the age of 26. Edward was born in 1901 and was changed at the age of 17. So, they were born six years apart, but were changed at different ages, making their human ages nine years apart. So it depends on how you look at it. I didn’t realize I had written it both ways. That’s very perceptive on your part. Thanks again for taking the time to comment! Best, PAL

      Hello Ananya!
Such a lovely comment. I’m thrilled that my efforts have been satisfying to you. Last year, I published my first novel called The Snake Handler’s Daughter. It is a “Peyton Place” type of novel for adults about a community of people trying to find love, often in a misplaced way. It is humorous and possesses a lot of characters and a little bit of magic. There’s more information here on this website and here on my author’s website. If you read it, let me know what you thought! xo, PAL

Hey PAL I’m almost through with all your books about Twilight and the one I got from Amazon (liked the snake handler’s daughter very much). I have a question about the font style you used here for the diaries. Maybe it’s because I’m German but I’m having a hard time to read Edward’s diaries because it’s so squiggled, like someone’s handwriting. I know it has this cool effect considering that one writes a diary by hand but it really does flicker and dance before my eyes (though I wonder if I’d have same Probleme if you wrote like that in German as well, I guess I would haha)

      Hi Maren,
You are right–that font is hard to read, especially on a smaller device. You might prefer to download the single-file PDFs that combine all the stories into two files. Those versions are in a regular sans serif font. Here are the links: Edward’s Diary Part 1 and Edward’s Diary Part 2. These files have only the text portion of the stories. The extras, such as pictures and attachments, have been removed, but at least you can read the stories a little easier. Thanks for your kind words and I’m glad you liked my novel, The Snake Handler’s Daughter! 🙂 -PAL

Thanks for all the great comments on the website last week. I was offline for a little while there. Hi Tinash,
The ideas for the diary came from writing Edward’s point of view through all of the Twilight books. Frequently, I would encounter questions I had about Edward’s world or the other characters that weren’t answered by Stephenie Meyer. I took those opportunities to make up my own answers to my questions by putting together clues from Ms. Meyer’s writing, including her Twilght Saga: The Illustrated Guide. She wrote a lot of details about all of her characters there, which I found fascinating. I’m glad you enjoyed these short stories as they’re “all mine.” 😉 -PAL
